Multibody Dynamic Analysis of a Wind Turbine Drivetrain in Consideration of the Shaft Bending Effect and a Variable Gear Mesh Including Eccentricity and Nacelle Movement

Due to the energy crisis and global warming issues, wind is becoming one of most attractive renewable resources in world. The drivetrains turbine tend fail more prematurely than those any other applications. Gearbox subsystem that causes downtime for turbines. In previous research, only torsional flexibility shaft was considered drivetrain model. However, because longer parts, components connected by affect each via bending, cannot be ignored. this study, a spherical joint consists three rotational springs used define bending. This bending will rotation, translational motion gear mesh contact force. Additionally, eccentricity nacelle movement are analyzed due coupled motion. paper, mathematical model proposed, which three-dimensional dynamic includes flexible bearings, model, flexibility, eccentricity, movement. equation derived using Lagrange's equation. governing solved numerically direct numerical integration. responses system forces between tooth time frequency domains calculated numerically. study shows highly useful subsequent studies on condition monitoring.
